At the heart of the R1 is the LightCELL superfoam midsole, a nitrogen-infused, PEBA-based compound that delivers exceptional energy return and responsive cushioning without the added weight. To further enhance impact protection, ZeroSag midsole inserts are strategically placed for superior shock absorption that resists compression even on extended runs. Combined with GOFLOW geometry, the R1 provides smooth, neutral guidance through every stride, promoting a natural heel-to-toe transition.

Underfoot, the CPU outsole compound offers impressive grip and durability while being significantly lighter than traditional rubber, keeping your steps quick and efficient. Up top, the double-layered Jacquard upper wraps your foot in eco-conscious comfort with a breathable and accommodating fit, especially in the toe box. The TUNEDFIT Dual Lacing System allows for separate midfoot and forefoot adjustments, ensuring a custom, locked-in feel mile after mile.

UPPER 

• Double-layer Jacquard fabric is 40% recycled and provides resilient breathable comfort. 
• TUNEDFIT Dual Lacing System allows customizable fits for different foot areas and easy forefoot fit adjustment to accommodate potential foot swelling on long runs.

MIDSOLE 

• LightCELL is PEBA superfoam-based, nitrogen-infused supercritical cushioning that's 50% lighter than EVA with 45% more energy return.  
• ZeroSag midsole inserts are top-loaded under the heel and through the midfoot into the forefoot. Originally co-developed with BASF for shock absorption in Le Mans race car suspensions, the compound provides extraordinary cushioning that resists breakdown. 
• GOFLOW geometry resembles a winding road through the midfoot, precisely matching the ZeroSag shape, for neutrally-supported and smooth transitions. 

OUTSOLE 

• CPU (Cast Polyurethane) compound assures confident enduring traction at a lower weight than rubber.
